FISHING STORIES: Cloudy to Sunny Skies Unveils a White Perch Bonanza!

On Oct. 9, 2015, a few Nyack College Fishing Club members (Rusel, Rickey, and Dr. Park) went fishing for a short while at Piermont Pier!

The afternoon started out with cloudy, gloomy skies, with the fishing being a bit slow. But, after a little wait, the White Perch bite turned on, right around the time the sun made a brief showing!

The fishing soon became non-stop action, and we left them biting. And, yes, everyone caught fish! (All fish were safely released.) The outing was a big success, with both Rusel and Rickey quickly becoming experts with the rod-and-reel.

They mastered how to fish bait fancied with J-hooks.

Casting? Check!
Knowing how to detect a bite? No problem!
Knowing when to set the hook? Nailed it!
Learning which rigs work best when the fish are being finicky? They got that down too!

Great job guys!

Quotes of the Day:

"Fishing is so relaxing. I wonder why more people don't do it." - Rusel

"Setting the hook and fighting the fish is really exciting!" - Rickey
