FISH RESEARCH: Dr. Park Delivers Seminar on Fishes of NY Harbor (March 25, 2013)

On March 25, 2013, Dr. Peter Park, director of the Nyack College Fishing Club, gave a lecture on "The Remarkable Fishes on New York Harbor." The talk was hosted by the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy and was a part of their Nature Talks lecture series.
 
Abstract: New York Harbor is home to an immense array of fishes, many of which have great historical, commercial, and recreational value. Discover the diverse marine and freshwater fishes that inhabit the water off Battery Park City, with an emphasis on the giants, oddities, and most delicious varieties. Learn about their ecological importance and what you can do to help protect them.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Peter J. Park, Assistant Professor of Biology at Nyack College, is an evolutionary ichthyologist who has expertise in ecological diversification of brain and behavior in Alaskan threespine stickleback fish. He is a volunteer Master Angler for the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy's Marine Education program.
